While working for a mortgage company, Jorge met Rudi Lopez (a.k.a. “One day, [Rudi] called me into his office and was like, ‘I’ve seen you grow into this very mature, high-level dancer. “[Jorge] found out that I was looking for a dance partner, he gave me a call, and that’s when we started talking,” Tanja recounted.196 days to go until the next Salsafestival Switzerland.Jorge “ATACA Jorgie” Burgos is from Puerto Rican decent and naturally, dance has been a huge part in his life.
In 2006, while still attending college, Jorge went to a Tampa nightclub which is where he was introduced to NY style salsa.
Jorge was immediately drawn to that style of dance.
Within 8 months of taking classes Jorge started teaching.
Erika Occhipinti, the owner of Salsa Caliente, commented that in her 8 year run with the studio no one had ever progressed and learned with such great talent and potential than that of Jorge.
Along with Tanja “La Alemana”, he has traveled the world performing at various Bachata and Salsa festivals such as Italy, France, Spain, Jordan, Argentina, Poland, Australia, and many more.
They even have performed or choreographed for Bachata artists such as Toby Love, Prince Royce, Xtreme, Dominic Marte, and Carlos y Alejandra.
We have just decided where the next Salsafestival will take place.
After long discussions we are moving from Zurich's poshest to its hippest neighbourhood and occupy the freshly renovated club and event house X-TRA!
Jorge started taking classes with Salsa Caliente Dance Studio that same year.
